The GPAHU welcomes special guest presenter 
Wendy Brighton, AVP, Cigna Pharmacy – Pharmacy Producer Relations Director, for a two-credit Continuing Education course providing an introduction to Pharmacy Benefit Management.
This course will provide a foundational knowledge of PBMs and the role they play in the US. Topics to be covered include:
- The function of a PBM and its role and services in the drug distribution system
- Prescription drug pricing methods and key pricing components
- Specialty drugs and the impact of prescription drug spending and ways to manage it
- Pharmacy plan design and cost containment strategies
- The laws and regulations affecting the PBM industry
