Successful Strategies for Controlling Drug Costs

Thursday, April 20, 2023  | 9-10:30AM

Our Corporate Partners represent the foundation of this Association and are responsible for helping to make the GPAHU one of the leading NAHU chapters in the country.

Join recognized experts for an “outside-the- box” virtual discussion on emerging trends in the pharmaceutical industry and high-cost drug spending. This session will examine successful strategies for controlling drug costs and how various approaches are impacting the healthcare market.

GPAHU is pleased to welcome back local industry expert Steve Kelly, Chairman and co-founder of Imagine360, to lead the session. Along with Mr. Kelly, pharmacist and thought leader, Dr. Steven T. Boyd, and Leaf Health founding partner, Robert Shelley will share their expertise and insights on specific strategies.

Join us to learn more about this thought- provoking topic that is growing in importance in 2023. Key takeaways for attendees will include:

  • Understanding the evolving landscape of specialty drugs and their rising costs
  • Challenges and solutions surrounding pharmacy benefits management
  • Strategies and insights for benefits professionals navigating client pharmacy benefits

GPAHU ANNUAL CONFERENCE

LEADING TOGETHER

A collective approach to progress, process, and programs to help build our industry.

Wednesday April 26, 2023

Plan to join us for the GPAHU marquis event of the year as we gather, in person, with our fellow industry leaders at this year’s conference to learn how our Association is shaping health care policy both in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C., learn about the state of our insurance markets in Philadelphia, and meet with exhibitors who continue to deliver significant value to health care consumers. You will not want to miss this event!

Key Note Speaker

Nick Buettner

Nick Buettner, Vice President, Blue Zones, LLC

Nick Buettner is the Vice President at Blue Zones, LLC. He is responsible for developing and implementing the Blue Zones Project in all Blue Zones Communities and corporate sites across the US.

In 2004, Nick Buettner & Dan Buettner teamed up with National Geographic and the world’s best longevity researchers to identify pockets around the world where people live measurably longer and better. In these “Blue Zones” they found that people reach age 100 at rates 10 times greater than in the United States.

After identifying 5 of the world’s Blue Zones, the Blue Zones team and National Geographic took teams of scientists to each location to identify lifestyle characteristics that might explain longevity. They found that the lifestyles of all Blue Zones residents shared nine specific characteristics. They call these characteristics the Power 9®.

For the last 12 years, Nick has been bringing these lessons to 75 communities around the United States which he will share more about at our Conference.
